Stakeholders on Thursday reached an agreement to take necessary measures in Apapa to ensure commencement of reconstruction of Wharf Road leading to the nation’s major port on July 7. The stakeholders agreed on several issues at a meeting held at the office complex of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing headquarters in Lagos. Those in attendance include representatives of traffic regulatory and traffic management agencies, law enforcement agencies, transport unions, petroleum products unions, port terminal operators and the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA). Others are telecommunication service providers, the Apapa Local Government, representatives of Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, AG Dangote Construction Company Ltd, contractors on the project, among others. The director of general services, ministry of health, Felix Ogenyi, said the fire was caused by an “electrical spark”. Ogenyi told journalists in Abuja that the fire incident on the third floor of the building was immediately put out by the fire service. “The fire wasn’t a blaze. It was just a little fire spark on the third floor of the Ministry. Immediately when we saw the electrical fire spark, the Fire Service was called in and the fire was put out immediately,” he said. “The fire was just at the corridor of the third floor. Popular singer, Waje,  In a recent chat with Saturday Beats, the singer opened up that if she did not toe the path of music to achieve greatness, she would have continued in her chin chin business which she said she started with her friend. “I don’t like cooking but I love to bake and I did that for a while with my friend Ijeoma Uzodima. We used to have this chin chin company and we used to sell everything in our stock. I remember that the magistrates in Onitsha at the time used to order from us and we used to sell it in a small can for about N600. We would cut 50kg chin chin for three days and my back would be paining me. I probably would have continued with that if I was not a singer. Ijeoma who is my very good friend was actually the one who used to push me,” she said. A disgruntled doctor, Dr Henry Bello, a family physician who was fired from his job at a Bronx hospital in 2015, hid a high powered rifle under a lab coat and had his ID with him when he walked into the hospital and started a shooting spree on  the 16th and 17th floors of the hospital, police sources say. He shot dead a female physician and seriously wounded six other doctors before setting himself on fire and shooting himself. Dr. Bello opened fire at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital where he used to work at about 2.45pm on Friday. Police Commissioner James O'Neill confirmed that the 45 year old died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the building. The shooter had tried to set himself on fire prior to fatally shooting himself. He staggered, bleeding, into a hallway where he collapsed and died with the rifle at his side. The body of the female victim, believed to be a doctor, was found next to him on the 17th floor. She was pronounced dead at the scene.  Fi

Popular Yoruba actress Lola Alao, who's also a single mother, made this statement in a just released interview with Vanguard. When asked why there are a lot of single mothers in the industry, Lola said; "I think it has to do with making the wrong choice. I will say they haven’t gotten to their final destination that is why they are single mothers." Asked if the statement also applies to her, Lola replied; "Yes, I think every single mother you see made a wrong choice."

Notorious kidnapper, Evans, has filed another lawsuit against the Inspector General of Police, Idris Ibrahim, challenging his continuous detention since his arrest on June 10th.The lawsuit was filed through his counsel at the Federal High Court, Lagos. He is demanding N300 million in damages for his continuous detention without trial and being subjected to media trials.
