RRS shared photos of some corporate pickpockets and thieves apprehended in various areas in Lagos state. According to a statement published on their social media handles, one of the apprehended pickpockets, 18-year-old Seun Jimoh was a trainee auto-engineer that abandoned his mechanic work for pickpocketing in Oshodi, on the ground that it was more profitable. Jimoh, decked in brown jacket and trousers, and a handbag like a corporate executive, as at the time of his arrest had already stolen four mobile phones from unsuspecting commuters in an early morning rush in Oshodi. He was removing N18, 000:00 from the pocket of a commuter during another bus stampede when he was caught. Unknown to Jimoh, two of his victims were on the lookout for him after suspecting him of being in possession of their missing phones. While standing at Oshodi Under Bridge, they spotted him removing N18,000:00 from the pocket of another victim, Gbenga Odeniyi. A man has admitted raping his own mother and breaking her neck during an argument at her home. A row between the 46-year-old thug and his victim, aged 63, initially began over money, according to court documents. The man, who is not being named to protect his victim's identity, dragged his mother around her home "punching her in the face and body." He then "forcibly raped her". At one point, the victim fled naked to a neighbour's house for help in Cincinnati, Ohio. But her son then threw her back over a fence and into the house. When he eventually fell asleep, the victim managed to call police. Officers found him still sleeping when they arrived. He pleaded guilty to rape, felonious assault and kidnapping in a deal which saw him jailed for 11 years on Wednesday. In court he claimed he "blacked out" and that "somebody slipped me something in my drink" He told the judge: "I feel bad about the whole incident."

The father of a 3-year-old Texas girl missing since October 7 told police that he watched his daughter choke on milk and die, and then removed her body from the home, according to an arrest affidavit.  The graphic statements from Wesley Mathews were revealed in an arrest warrant released by police in Richardson, Texas, on Tuesday morning. Mathews “had been trying to get the 3 year old girl to drink her milk in the garage” early October 7, the affidavit said. “Wesley Mathews said she wouldn’t listen to him.” At that point, Mathews said that he “physically assisted” Sherin in drinking her milk and that the girl choked on the drink. “She was coughing and her breathing slowed. Eventually, Wesley Mathews no longer felt a pulse on the child and believed she had died,” the affidavit said. Then, he told police, he removed her body from the home. The mobile policeman, Attah Aninoko, on Thursday dragged down Ogundele from an electric pole opposite the house and beat him up for disconnecting power to the house of the former IG.  Ogundele’s leg was allegedly broken by the sergeant, who was reported to have boasted that “nothing will happen.” The matter was said to have been reported to the police at the Ikoyi division and the sergeant was arrested. The Head of Corporate Communications Department, Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC), Mr. Godwin Idemudia, who confirmed the incident, said the sergeant had been detained. He explained that the house of the former IG owed a bill of N154,693.85, adding that the name on the bill was one Yusuf. The Federal High Court in Abuja had ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria and the commercial banks to disclose all accounts in their custody and the balances in such accounts. It also made an interim order directing the banks to freeze all the said accounts by stopping “all outward payments, operations or transactions” pending the hearing of the substantive application seeking the forfeiture of the balances in the accounts to the Federal Government.  Bank secretaries and legal teams of the 19 banks are scheduled to hold an emergency meeting to fashion out their plan for compliance.   27-year-old,  Jamie Harron,  from Stirling, Scotland, was sentenced for public indecency yesterday, and for drinking alcohol earlier this month. His campaign group Detained in Dubai announced that he has been freed and has had his passport returned. The electrician was exonerated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the ruler of the emirate. The Sheikh made a special order for the cases against Harron to be dismissed.
