Four people sentenced on to death on Friday for stealing a cell phone valued at N10,000 in Oyo State. The four – Alaba Akinola, 30, Sarafa Babalola 25, Sola Kolawole, 27, and Ibrahim Gbedeogun 28 – were accused of armed robbery. Mr I. About 373 illegal pharmacies and patent medicine stores have been shutdown by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria in Ogun State for various offences. The Director, Inspection and Monitoring Department, PCN, Mrs. Anthonia Aruya, revealed this on Friday in Abeokuta, while briefing journalists about the activities of the council. : : Giving the breakdown, she said 15 pharmacies and 358 patent stores were affected. A pastor in Sierra Leone has finds  a 706-carat diamond, according to the government, in one of the largest precious stone finds ever made worldwide. The discovery was made by Pastor Emmanuel Momoh in an artisanal mine in the village of Koyadu in eastern Kono district, a government statement said on Thursday. A 706-carat diamond was presented to President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma yesterday evening, the statement said. EFCC, today, secured the conviction and sentencing of an Internet fraudster, Akintunde Vincent Abiodun, 37, before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja. Abiodun was arraigned on January 23, 2017. on an amended 12-count charge of stealing and forgery to the tune of N7, 806, 093. Abiodun’s long walk to jail began after he presented himself as Christopher Williams to his victim, Dona Bonni, whom he met on a dating site on the Internet. The convict, as part of his tricks, had told Bonni that he inherited gemstones worth $18, 050,000 from his late father in the U.K. He also forged an American passport with which he convinced his victim of his purported nationality. Consequently, the convict dishonestly received various sums of money, at different times, from his victim. Justice Ipaye sentenced the accused to six years imprisonment.

22-year-old Nigerian man was arrested on Thursday, March 16th after he exposed himself to at least three women in a Shopko parking lot at 55 Lake Boulevard in Redding, US. Kawan Okoye Gaidowsky admitted to the Redding Police Department he was driving a gray, 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt when he pulled up next to a woman in the Shopko parking lot, pulled out his penis and began to masturbate on Wednesday morning around 8:42 a.m., police said. The Lagos State Government has advised that the Queen’s College, Yaba, be shut down indefinitely for a proper treatment of the water system in the school. The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris who disclosed this in Lagos while briefing the press on the outcome of the investigation into the deaths, advised that the school resumption should be delayed till appropriate measures are put in place  to remove sources of contaminants causing ill health and deaths of students. “We wish to advise that the school resumption be delayed till appropriate measures have been put in place for the safety of the students,” he noted, even as he recommended urgent need for water disinfection and sterilization of all water points in the school. A former Managing Director of NNPC, was arraigned on Thursday at the Federal High Court, Abuja on a six-count of fraud charge The former oil chief was charged by the anti-graft EFCC after he admitted owning over $9.8 million cash found in a house that also belongs to him in Kaduna State. Justice Muslim Hassan of the Federal High Court in Lagos has withdrawn from the case of alleged N4.9bn fraud charge pressed against a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The judge ordered the return of the case file to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, for re-assignment to another judge. Eye witnesses said the incident happened at night when ‎the truck lost control on Ngurore bridge and plunged into the dried river where 35 people died and many sustained injuries. Residents said 32 corpses and atleast 30 injured persons were taken to hospitals in Yola. However, the Adamawa Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Adegoke Adetunji confirmed the death of 15 persons, adding that many sustained injuries. According to him, the accident occurred at about 10 p.m. on the Ngurore Bridge on Yola-Numan Road, saying the dead and the injured had been evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, and Specialists Hospital, Yola. ‎“On arrival at the scene, we discovered that it was a truck carrying cows and passengers that lost control and fell into the drying river,” the commander said. According to BBC, Two Russian spies are being indicted by the US Department of Justice over a huge breach of Yahoo user accounts. Yahoo had once said "state-sponsored" hackers were behind the 2014 incident that affected 500 million accounts. The stolen data included names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth and encrypted passwords, but not credit card data, according to Yahoo. An announcement by the Justice Department detailing the charges is expected to be made later today.
