  Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles Head coach has confirmed that captain John Mikel Obi sustained a hand injury, during their 2-0 win over Iceland on Friday. Rohr expects him to feature against Argentina in the last Group D fixture, even if it means he wears a cast. “We will be ready for the game against Argentina. Unfortunately there is one injury in the team. Our captain, John Mikel Obi fractured his hand against Iceland but he can play with a cast. The medical team have done a good job on him. “Aside him, everyone is fit. We are preparing for the next game. We will do everything to prepare the team in the best possible way

Nigeria  will be hoping to get a draw or a win against Argentina to advance to the next stage with  Croatia  in Group D. Good Luck Eagles

Sportswear manufacturing, Nike have officially unveiled the playing jerseys which the senior national team of Nigeria will use at the World Cup later this year. The event which took place in London started few hours ago. The jersey unveiled by Nike carried a resemblance of the Super Eagles jersey of 1995, which they used in a friendly game against England. The Super Eagles came from 0-2 deficit to hand over a memorable defeat to the Messi-less Argentines. Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho were superb on the attack, with Kelechi reducing the deficit with a curled free kick just before the break. The Eagles came back in the second half even more determined and put three goals behind the Argentine goalie. Iwobi had a brace scoring in the 52nd and 73minute, the second via a well placed pass by Ahmed Musa, who came in for Kelechi. Brian Idowu scored Nigeria’s fourth goal in the 54th minute.
