12 inmates releases from Kirikiri prison by Gov. Ambode.

According to reports, the inmates have spent between twenty and thirty-four years in prison and were released having satisfied basic conditions such as remorse, good behaviour and readiness to contribute meaningfully to the society.  Speaking while handing over the release order from the Governor to the Lagos Prisons Command, Chairman of the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, Professor Oyelowo Oyewo, said the release of the inmates was in line with the commitment of the present administration to the ideals of the justice sector reforms through prison decongestion. : Oyewo, who represented Governor Ambode at the event alongside other members of the Council, said the exercise was pursuant to the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) which empowered the Governor to exercise prerogative of mercy, and also to offer hope to such inmates who had demonstrated capacity to be re-absorbed into the society. : Oyewo, a professor of law said, “The Advisory Council On Prerog

Newborn goes missing after mother's fatal stabbing in Houston ,Texas

  Police in Texas issued an AMBER Alert on Tuesday for a newborn baby girl who went missing after her mother was found fatally stabbed at her home. Six-week-old Shanally Flores could not be found on Tuesday afternoon after police found her mother, Carolina Flores, dead with multiple stab wounds in an apartment in northeast Houston, according to police.  According to the Police, the 33 years old Carolina Flores' body was discovered by a family member who also lived in the apartment.  Police named the baby’s father, Thomas Bernardez, as a person of interest in the case, however, police later located Bernardez in San Antonio, Texas, without the child. He denied any involvement in the murder. Witnesses described Flores as a “hard-working woman,” who migrated to the states from Honduras a few years ago. The Lagos State Government on Wednesday arraigned a brother of late founder of GTB and property developer, David Olumide Aderinokun and a staff of the New Town Development Authority (NTDA), Balogun Adeniyi Abdul-Wakil, before an Igbosere Magistrate Court over alleged conspiracy, forgery, stealing and property fraud on parcels of land in Lekki Peninsula estimated at 2678.068 square metres. . Aderinokun, who is the husband of media personality, Stephanie Coker, was arraigned separately on an eight-count charge bordering on the offence and alongside Abdul-Wakil on another eight-count charge before the same court. . Aderinokun, trading under the name and style of Davade Properties, was alleged to have conspired with others now at large sometime in February 2016 to commit felony to wit stealing, forgery and obtaining money under false pretense. .
