“I gave up on Nigeria.”- Yemi Sholade Laments

Image
Popular actor Yemi Solade is fed up of Nigeria and plans on relocating to another country with his family. “For the first time in a long while, I gave up on Nigeria. I might decide to relocate to another country and this is what I always criticise my colleagues for. Nigeria is killing me. I have been so patriotic, but I think I have to face the reality now. I have a job that is not putting meals on my table the way it should and I don’t want my children to suffer. It is terrible if we continue to lose our best minds to other countries. I don’t want to have money like Femi Otedola; I don’t pray for it and I don’t need it at my age. All I need are the basic things in life, which I can use to take care of myself, my wife and my children. “I struggle to get good jobs; I have done my best. I should have left Nigeria 20 years ago, but I stayed to contribute my quota to its development. I am getting older; I am older than some of the governors in Nigeria and I cannot be running to t...

I received some of our students here yesterday and I am really impressed with the zeal and fearlessness they exuded. “In Nigeria, we have a very young and aggressive population and we are working very hard to create the enabling and inclusive environment for their contributions to be better appreciated,’’ the President told the Prime Minister. President Buhari said his government was harnessing the human and material resources available in the country, especially in the educational and agricultural sectors, while seeking partnerships with countries that can explore the huge potentials in Nigeria. Helen Paul Talks About The Controversial Hajib Video...

Image
Recall that Paul had faced criticism shortly after she released a video skit in which she wore hijab. Rapper, Falz, had also faced backlash from Muslim groups for using dancers dressed in hijab in his video, This is Nigeria. Paul told Sunday Scoop, “The criticism doesn’t affect my creativity; rather, it promotes it. As an actor, you’re taught never to be afraid to take up any role. You just step into it and do it. Of course, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t set certain standards for yourself. If you have no qualms about issues of morality about certain roles for example, you shouldn’t be concerned about criticism. Criticism should rather encourage you to do better. And when you do things that get noticed by the world, it means that God has given you a voice and some sphere of influence and that’s a good thing.” Commenting on the criticisms that trailed the skit, Helen added, “I have been doing skits about religions (particularly Christianity and Islam which are the two leading religions...

Singer Phyno Reveals That He Doesnt Like Lousy Ladies

Image
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the rapper spoke about the type of lady he fancies.  He said, “On the surface, I like a girl who is beautiful. 'I regret fighting with my former record label 4 years ago' Rapper, Vector opens up

Image
In 2014, the rapper had a feud with his former record company, YSG Entertainment, which ended in court and for a year, he was not able to do music. In this interview with Punchng, Vector admitted that he mismanaged information during his feud with the record company and he paid for it. He said, “To be honest with you, the only reason I was taken to court was because I was popular or becoming popular. I must have mismanaged information on my part as well. I hate the fact that it slowed down my music and I lost money too. But I have learnt to try to be more patient and understanding with people. You cannot fight with people forever regardless of what could have happened. I have reached out to my former label and we have spoken.” Speaking on his regrets, he said,  “everything happens for a reason and I am grateful for my present position. Everyone regrets things; I regret things too but I just don’t dwell on them for too long. I will be stupid to tell you that I didn’t regret...

''Posthumous Award on Abiola does not make you a democrat'' - PDP tells Buhari

Image
According to the party, President Buhari has unapologetically violated and still violating, with gross impunity, all democratic tenets for which Chief Abiola suffered, died and is being honoured. Continue to read part of the statement below Nigerians still hold that President Buhari has not considered it necessary to apologize for staging the military coup that destroyed democratic governance on December 31, 1983, suspended our 1979 Constitution, foisted siege mentality on Nigerians and set the stage for a long despotic military rule for which Chief Abiola, his dear wife, Kudirat and other democratic martyrs ended up paying the supreme sacrifice to restore. Rather than apologising for his roles in those dark ages, President Buhari recently boasted of violation of human rights during his regime as military head of state including locking up citizens in prison without trial; the same injustice which Chief Abiola later suffered under General Sani Abacha. This is a leader und...
