Former Gov Kalu Explains Why Obasanjo Has No Moral Right To Criticize Buhari

Kalu disclosed that he would personally reply Obasanjo’s letter with a view to bringing to the public the misdeed of the former President, especially the $16 billion power project and other high profile corruption he alleged the ex- President perpetrated.  Kalu further said that Obasanjo had no moral right to criticize Buhari, detailing the alleged atrocities of the former President and advised him not to comment on national issues, at least for now. Fielding questions from reporters at the Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 (MMA2), yesterday, Kalu called on Buhari to speak up on the challenges of insecurity affecting the country, especially as it affected the attack of some section of the country by Fulani herdsmen. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters (Senate), Ita Enang, briefed State House correspondents yesterday that President Muhammadu Buhari has signed eight bills into law. Prominent among the bills signed into law is the Legislative Houses (Power and Privileges), Act 2018. The Act grants members of Legislative Houses in the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly immunity from litigation for actions taken in plenary or committee proceedings of the House or committee. . According to Enang, the law is meant to strengthen the power of the legislators to carry out their legislative functions. .
