According to BBC, men and women in the 11 communities that were attacked, took to their heels with their children to the neighboring communities for safety. While they were running, the Imam saw them and decided to open his home so they can hide from their attackers. He kept the men in the mosque while the women and children he kept in his home.  The attackers came to the Imam and asked him to surrender those that were Christians he was hiding but he lied to them that no Christian was in his home.  This singular act saved 262 Christians from being killed in the attack.  Over 100 persons, including children, were killed by the suspected herdsmen.

U.S Based , Georgina Onuoha has slammed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo,  for saying there will be resettlement and rehabilitation for farmers to go back to their  farmlands in Plateau during his visit to the embattled state on Monday following attacks  that left scores of people dead.  She wrote; "I can not believe that this man is a pastor and now the Vice President of the Federal  Republic of Nigeria. Prof Osinbano   @profosinbajo  , you can not serve God and Man at  the same time. If the root cause of these senseless killings are not addressed it will keep  repeating itself. President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the killing of about 86 people in Plateau State.

Danladi Ciroma, the Chairman, North Central zone of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has reacted to the recent attacks on Plateau villages by suspected herdsmen where over 86 persons were hacked to death. Ciroma in a statement claimed that the attack was in retaliation of the killing of over 300 cows in the last few weeks by the villagers. He said, “These attacks are retaliatory. As much as I don’t support the killing of human being, the truth must be told that those who carried out the attacks must be on revenge mission. There have been recent reports of cow rustling and destruction of farms between Berom farmers and Fulani herdsmen. The people carrying out these criminal activities are well known to the communities but the communities are hiding them. “Fulani herdsmen have lost about 300 cows in the last few weeks – 94 cows were rustled by armed Berom youths in Fan village, another 36 cows were killed by Berom youths.
