Scotland Who Touched Man’s Hip in Dubai Bar Has Charges Against Him Dropped

27-year-old, Jamie Harron, from Stirling, Scotland, was sentenced for public indecency yesterday, and for drinking alcohol earlier this month.

His campaign group Detained in Dubai announced that he has been freed and has had his passport returned. The electrician was exonerated by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the ruler of the emirate.

The Sheikh made a special order for the cases against Harron to be dismissed.

Harron was arrested in July over the incident, in which he said he put his hand on a man’s hip to avoid spilling a drink in a crowded bar.
