Anti-Hameed Ali protests are on-going in major streets of Onitsha, in Anambra State. The protesters are alleging disrespect of the National Assembly by the Comptroller-General of Customs, Hameed Ali and are demanding that he be sacked with immediate effect.

According to AP, at least 5,000 people, including women and children, have been freed from extremist captivity and at least 60 Boko Haram fighters have been killed by Cameroonian and Nigerian soldiers in operations since the end of January, Cameroon's minister of communication said Tuesday. "At least 60 terrorists were killed, 21 suspects were arrested and are helping Cameroon and Nigerian military in their investigations," Bakary said. "A refuge center for the insurgents is entirely destroyed on the Mandara highlands, a petroleum depot destroyed and an explosive factory destroyed." Soldiers have also destroyed the residence of a Boko Haram leader which also served as a hideout for the extremists, along with a huge consignment of weapons, vehicles and motorcycles, he said. Rep. Emmanuel Agboola, said that this was in pursuant to Sections 15, 20(1) and (5) of the CBN Act, which made it illegal to price or denominate the cost of any product or service in any foreign currency in Nigeria other than the Naira. He added that some other international schools in Nigeria were also collecting fees in foreign currencies, contrary to the government policy. He explained that AISA disregarded the extant financial regulations even when it was inclined to collect the fees in Naira and could accept the currency only at parallel market rate. According to the lawmaker, the use of the parallel market rate to determine the amount of fees to be collected in Naira entails that parents pay school fees at different rates. “This depends on the rate in the black market and as such, parents of children in the same class end up paying different fees for their wards, depending on the day the payment was made,” he said.

According to the anti-graft agency, the sacks were intercepted following a tip off on Tuesday. In statement by the EFFC, the money was recovered, “During a routine baggage screening, five sacks were sighted unattended and without tags containing fresh bulk items suspected to be money. “Upon examination, the bags were found to contain fresh crispy naira notes of N200 denomination in 20 bundles totaling forty million naira and N50 denomination in 180 bundles totaling nine million naira with seal purportedly emanating from the Nigeria Security and Minting Plc as seen in the labeled sealed packs.” The EFCC said investigation was ongoing “to unravel the culprits behind the attempted illegal movement of the cash”. Nigeria warehouse with expired drugs has been busted. The Standards Organisation of Nigeria has arrested a cosmetics and wine importer suspected of changing the expiry dates on products and putting new dates on them to mislead buyers, Punch.ng reports. The importer, Mr. Joseph Udeh, owner of Jouf Nigeria Limited, located at No. 10 Faith Street, off Comfort Oboh Street, Kirikiri Road, Apapa, Lagos, is said to be a major dealer in popular cosmetics and home product brands. . He converted two four-storey residential buildings, each containing eight rooms into storage facilities for products. A closer look at some of the cosmetics revealed varying expiry dates, some dating as far back as 2004 while some had expired in 2013 and some in 2016. .
