The remains of footballer Cheick Tiote has been flown back to his home country Ivory Coast for befitting burial.  The body arrived Thursday afternoon at Port Bouet Airport in Abidjan, the Ivorian capital, after being flown from China where he tragically  collapsed and passed away. He was received by hundreds of people, including former Elephants coach and teammates Herve Renard, Kolo Toure, Gervinho, Tiene and Wilfred Bony who was among the pallbearers carrying the coffin containing Cheick Tiote's body when it arrived. According to BBC Sports, Tiote’s family wants the late player who collapsed and died during a training session with his Chinese club last week, to be buried in his hometown Yamoussoukro but the Ivory Coast’s Football Federation prefers Abidjan.

She shared the photo on Facebook and wrote; "I told you to expect worse this year, didn't I!? Oh well here we are, it's my birthday and it's within my jurisdiction to #CauseChaos #TensionTheInternet .... The man who opened fire at a congressional baseball practice in Virginia has been identified as  66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson.  Late Hodgkinson was married and lived in Belleville, Illinois. He started his own company, JTH Inspections, in 1994 and conducted home inspections and mold/air quality testing. But he quit that job on New Year's Eve last year, according to his Facebook profile. Hodgkinson has written more than a dozen letters to the Belleville News-Democrat, a local paper, from 2010 to 2012. One of the final letters from Hodgkinson, in July of 2012, called for President Obama's re-election and to "vote all Republicans out of Congress."

A woman was on Sunday caught at JFK Airport in New York  attempting to smuggle 27 pounds of cocaine in the cushion of her motorized wheelchair. Yoncela arrived at the JFK Airport from St. Lucia with the cocaine said to be worth about $468,000 tucked under and behind her in the wheelchair. She was discovered after a drug-sniffing K9 sniffed out the drug and alerted Customs and Border Protection Officers. Taking a closer look, it was noticed that cushion of the wheelchair seat looked unusual so they checked and found 6 bricks and 2 clear bags of coke.  She , 33, has now been arrested for importation of a controlled substance.

A UK based young man is currently hospitalized after he suffered second degree burns in an acid attack at his home. According to someone who knows him and shared a photo from his hospital bed, it was a supposed female friend, who connived with thieves to steal £6,000 from him, that was responsible for the gruesome attack. "In the early hours of Sunday 11th June, my friend was setup by a female 'friend' named, Xinia, to be robbed in his home. After gaining his trust, she was invited over to his home and the money was in a safe. There was drama over the weekend as an Abuja-based pastor, Jacob Oyedepo allegedly used bouncers to disperse family and friends who had gathered to bury his wife at their hometown, Oke-Andi area of Ilorin, Kwara state. According to reports, the woman, Mrs Christiana Oyedepo who died on May 2nd 2017, was supposed to be buried in a land she developed before she fell sick and later died.  Her husband of 17 years and father of her four children disrupted the burial from holding because he allegedly had plans to sell the land and felt that if she is buried on the land, it will discourage buyers.  Family members claimed that the deceased had embarked on the project with loans obtained from a cooperative society and was still servicing the loan when she died.
