One of Toronto’s notorious Matharoo sisters was arrested on an international arrest warrant at an airport in Italy on Wednesday.  According to Italian newspaper Il Gazzettino, Kiran Matharoo was nabbed as she disembarked a flight at Venice’s Marco Polo Airport. It’s believed the bust was related to alleged sex-tortion beefs against Kiran and her sister Jyoti in the Nigerian capital of Lagos.  The two selfie-loving socialites were frequent fliers on Instagram, posting their jet-setting antics in a variety of provocative poses. group of Christians from a Pentecostal church who were on a routine visit to Kirikiri prison in Lagos, recently, were shocked when they came face- to- face with the notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumebi Onwuamaegbu aka Evans, who has pleaded guilty to the charge of kidnapping and was remanded by court in the prison. Reports said the Christians, whose numerical strength could not be ascertained, were in the prison on a Sunday, just few weeks after Evans was remanded and after routine checks, they demanded to pray for the notorious kidnap suspect. It was reliably learned that prison officials reluctantly agreed to their request and later brought the suspect to them. The Lagos state command is currently investigating the general overseer of ‘Tongue of Fire Restoration Ministry’ for a case of abduction, defilement and abortion. On 30/6/2016, the command received a report that the suspect, a pastor with a church situated on Jacob Taiwo Street Oshodi was harbouring some young girls and freely having unlawful canal knowledge of them.  Upon receipt of the information, the X-squad unit of the command mobilised to the apartment and subsequently rescued 13 girls whose age ranges from 13 to 18years, consequently the pastor was arrested.Further investigation revealed that the pastor who was in the habit of having sexual intercourse with the girls at will had also procured abortion for some of them.  The suspect who is currently undergoing interrogation with the command admitted he had sex with only 6 of them. A man in Louisiana, U.S., Jatory Evans, has hanged himself after been accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and fatally shooting her parent.  The 29-year-old Evans also burned down their house. Reports quoted Jefferson Parish Coroner Dr Gerry Cvitanovich as saying that the 29-year-old Evans hanged himself on Wednesday at the Jefferson Parish Jail. Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen Boyd said he was found around 4:25 p.m. and pronounced dead later.  Authorities in Louisiana say Evans stabbed his estranged girlfriend, 20-year-old Sydney Hanson, in the bedroom of a home on Nov. 7 before igniting the room while she was still aliveHanson was seven months pregnant.  Evans is also accused of shooting and stabbing Hanson’s mother, Samantha Hanson, and shooting her father, Dwayne Hanson, in the head. Cvitanovich says his office will conduct an autopsy on Evans.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has described the alleged forceful deportation of over 100,000 Nigerian asylum seekers by Cameroonian military as worrisome and disturbing.  Dabiri in a statement on Friday decried the inhuman treatment meted out to Nigerian asylum seekers who were affected by the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East. She said despite the friendly disposition between the two countries, the alleged deportation of Nigerians was disturbing and calls for concern. . “This unfriendly attitude of the Cameroonian soldiers to Nigerian asylum seekers is really worrisome,’’ Dabiri-Erewa said as she appealed to ECOWAS and other West African regional groups to prevail on Cameroon to be their brothers’ keeper in a situation like this.

Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, during his speech at his presidential declaration ceremony in Abuja earlier today, Fayose said he is the man already destined by God to take Nigeria out of its present political and economic stagnation.  He said he would defeat president Buhari in any free and fair election. According to him, the return of President Buhari from the UK where he was for two months for medical checkup, is a sign of him attaining the seat of the President. “Nobody like me can take out the President from his office, twice I defeated the incumbents to become governor of Ekiti State. I am confident with your support as my party leaders and supporters, I will defeat the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari in a free and fair election. I am the man already destined by God to take Nigeria out of its present political and economic stagnation” he said

A little boy identified as Junior Onah, is currently lying critically ill in a hospital after he was set ablaze by his friend, Wisdom Kelechi, over a missing phone in Enugu on Monday, September 25th. According to the Guardian, Wisdom had gone to a barbing salon at Ifoh file in Abakpa Nike in the state to charge his phone and left it in the care of Junior who he expected to help him watch over it. Ho, ever when he came back to take his phone, he found out that the phone had been stolen. When asked, Junior said he did not know who took it from where it was charging. An argument ensued. Wisdom stormed out of the salon and returned with a gallon of petrol and lighter which he used to set his friend ablaze. The victim was rushed to the hospital where doctors are battling to save his life.
