Three armed robbers who specialize in stealing phones and money from their victims in Eleme town, Rivers state  were out of luck today May 31st. The robbers were captured around High Tension Area of Aleto in Eleme after they succeeded in snatching some phones and money from their victims at gunpoint and even shot a man. They were  handing over to the police, after a mob caught them and beat them blue and black.

The President of a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, Chief Ademola Odunade, on Thursday dissolved an 11year-old marriage between one Nurudeen Akinpelu and Folake over sexual starvation and promiscuity. Odunade granted custody of the two children produced by the union to the husband, Nurudeen and urged Folake to avoid further problems with the plaintiff. “If Folake is interested in seeing any of the children, she should approach the court at anytime,” Odunade said. Senate President, Bukola Saraki, says as far as he is concerned, Dino Melaye is still a member of the APC. Saraki said this shortly after Dino announced his defection to the opposition party this morning. Saraki who was laughing after Dino announced his defection, said Senator Melaye remains a member of the ruling party. He added that Melaye will be allowed to temporarily seat among the opposition for now. Dino had asked that his seat be moved to the aisle where members of the opposition usually seat in the chambers.  Saraki insisted that Senator Dino had not defected but that he was only permitting a temporary change of seat to ensure that the lawmaker is comfortable before he recovers from his trauma.

Justice Adebunkola Banjoko of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, today sentenced a former governor of Taraba State, Jolly Nyame, to 14 years in prison without an option of fine. Nyame, who was Taraba State governor between 1999 and 2007, was charged to court by EFCC for the misappropriation of N1.64 billion while he served as governor.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today secured the conviction and sentencing of one Taiwo Michael Okunowo, an Internet fraudster, before Justice S.O. Solebo of the State High court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a one- count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and possession of fraudulent documents. The convict was arrested following intelligence report received by the Commission on December 15, 2017 about his fraudulent activities. The count reads: “That you, Taiwo Michael Okunowo, (aka Holly Herlich, Mark Welsh, Steven Staller), on or about the 16th day of December, 2017, at Lagos within the Ikeja judicial Division, had in your possession documents containing false pretence titled-  “Facebook & Government Compensation Winning Certificate, Treasure Grant Winners Certificate and Facebook-brandon M. French President Emmanuel Macron  granted the hero "Spiderman" French citizenship and was offered to an enrollment to be a firefighter at the French fire service. On Tuesday, Gassama visited the Paris Fire Brigade headquarters and Champerret fire station and also met with the Paris fire brigade commander general  Jean-Claude Gallet .

But, according to him, his wife took the wrong advice from friends who wanted to cause havoc in their home. 25th of May was a very good day for the Badman himself, Teddy A, as he not only dropped his highly anticipated first single after Big Brother Naija (BBA) #Down, but he also had a single release party that was a very huge success.  The event which was held at Tilt Terrace, Lekki, started a little late, but Dee One, who was also the MC /Anchor was there to keep the mood light and also make people laugh. Three years down the line, the long arm of the law has caught up with Waheed Abubakar, the husband of a nanny, who abducted three children of her bosses in the Surulere area of Lagos State two days after she was employed via OLX – an online sales portal. The 41-year-old suspect, a commercial tricycle rider, was tracked down at his park in the Ikorodu area of the city by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team. Bearing a pseudonym Mary Adebiyi, the nanny, had fled with the three children aged 11 months, four and six on April 7, 2015 when their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leke Orekoya, were at work. It was reported that she and other members of the kidnap syndicate demanded N15m ransom from the parents. However, a week later, the children were recovered in the Shasha area of Lagos, where they were dumped, while the abductor, whose real name is Funmilayo Adeyemi, was arrested. Evans said that similar charges were already pending before another Lagos court, and as such all the charges should be tried by one judge. The Lagos State Government had brought five fresh charges bordering on conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping and attempted murder against Evans and three others. An  Customary Court  in Orile Agege in Lagos on Thursday dissolved a 25-year-old marriage between Idris Balogun and his wife, Abosede over threat to life and lack of love. The Court President, Mr P.A. Williams, held that the marriage had broken down irretrievably and he had no choice but to dissolve the union. “The marriage between Abosede and Idris Balogun is hereby dissolved, they shall cease to be husband and wife and go their separate ways,’’ he said. The  children were to  remain in their mother’s custody until the Ikeja Family Court says otherwise. “Idris should pay N350, 000 into Abosede’s account to enable her to settle down, ” he said.
