Ivanka Trump Reportedly Shut Down Her Fashion Business

US president daugther, Ivanka Trump reportedly to be shutting down her fashion brand due to conflict of interests.

Ivanka Trump is reportedly shutting down her eponymous fashion brand. The brand which was first launched in 2007 as a fine jewelry label has in time past, been faced with numerous controversies regarding conflict of interests.

According to InStyle reports that representatives for the brand, in confirming the news said that the shutdown is not unrelated to restrictions Ivanka reportedly obligated on the brand by herself to prevent the appearance of ethics infringements as the cause of its mired expansion both locally and internationally.

Abigail Klem, who became the president of the company after Ivanka stepped down because of her father’s 2017 inauguration, said in a statement:

"We are incredibly proud of the brand we have built and the content and product we’ve developed for our customers ... We’ve seen strong sales since the brand’s inception, which continued through this year with the successful launch of our rapidly growing e-commerce business."

"I know that this was a very difficult decision for Ivanka and I am very grateful for the opportunity to have led such a talented and committed team. When faced with the most unique circumstances, the team displayed strength and optimism." She said.

Ivanka Trump, also stated: "I do not know when or if I will ever return to the business, but I do know that my focus for the foreseeable future will be the work I am doing here in Washington, so making this decision now is the only fair outcome for my team and partners."

Her products, such as the handbags and shift dresses, will continue to be sold to retailers, for the time being.
