After last month's attack on Westminster and House of Parliament, British officers arrested a man carrying knives near Prime Minister Theresa May's office in London on Thursday on suspicion of preparing an act of terrorism. The 27-year-old man was detained by counter-terrorism officers on Parliament Street, a stone's throw from the parliament building and May's Downing Street office, during a stop-and-search in an ongoing security operation, police said. No one was injured in the incident, and May was not at Downing Street at the time because she was campaigning in northern England ahead of the June 8 election. In the wake of United Airlines  dragging a passenger  off an overbooked flight, the airline has announced 10 new "substantial" policy changes for better service. "The changes are the result of United's thorough examination of its policies and procedures, and commitment to take action, in the wake of the forced removal of a customer aboard United Express Flight 3411 on April 9," the statement on the airline's website read.  Here is the full list of changes: 1. Limit use of law enforcement to safety and security issues only. 2. Not require customers seated on the plane to give up their seat involuntarily unless safety or security is at risk. 3. The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has insisted that he will continue to hold the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, in high esteem, despite his snub at a social function on Tuesday. The distraught Thai mother of a baby girl killed by her boyfriend in a murder he broadcast on Facebook Live has described the harrowing moment she stumbled across the video and rushed to alert police. Jiranuch Trirat, a 22-year-old from Phuket, was left devastated after her boyfriend Wuttisan Wongtalay hanged their 11-month old daughter Natalie from the side of an abandoned building before taking his own life. “I was with my older brother and he was logging onto his Facebook,” she told AFP on Thursday from a Phuket temple where daily prayers were being held for Natalie ahead of her cremation on Saturday. “He was scrolling down and suddenly we saw the live broadcast. I turned to take a look and saw him (Wuttisan) drop my daughter with the rope and I couldn’t continue to watch.” The horrifying realisation of what was unfolding sparked a desperate search by relatives and police, with the bodies of Wuttisan and Natalie found just a few hours later. Akolade Arowolo, who stabbed his banker wife, Titilayo to death in June 2011, is begging for pardon and a second chance at life under the Lagos State Prerogative on Mercy conferred on Lagos State Governor, Ambode, on the guise that he has reformed. Akolade was sentenced to death for stabbing his wife 76 times, by an Ikeja high court in 2014. His pleading came as the Committee on Prerogative on Mercy said that the state will not fail to exercise its prerogative on prisoners, who proved to have been reformed. A 19-year-old Canadian high school student was allegedly beaten to death by teenage girls who livestreamed a video o of the brutal attack. According to CBC News, Serena McKay, 19, was killed Sunday night what the Royal Canadian Mountain police have ruled a homicide. Two teenage girls, ages 16 and 17, have reportedly been arrested in connection to her death.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday withdrew its application seeking the stay of execution of a court order which unfroze the Skye Bank account of the wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience with a balance of $5.9m. A counsel for the EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo, appeared before the Federal High Court in Lagos which on April 6 unfroze Patience’s account, stating that the commission had changed its mind about appealing the unfreezing order. More than 27 people have been confirmed dead following a collision between a bus and a truck at Kambu along Mombasa-Nairobi highway, Kenya.  According to the area OCPD Leonard Kimaiyo, the accident involved a bus that was bound to Malindi belonging to Buscar Company, and a oil tanker that was headed to Nairobi from Mombasa.
