98-YEAR-OLD MOTHER MOVES INTO HOME CARE TO LOOK AFTER HER 80-YEAR-OLD SON

Get your tissues ready because this story is sure to make you make your eyes water. It even made me a little emotional. If this emotional story doesn’t make you cry it’ll definitely make you feel something. It’s a pretty special story.

A 98-year-old mother has decided to move into a care home to look after her 80-year-old son. That alone already is heartwarming enough. Their names are Ada Keating and Tom and the two are inseparable.

They love spending as much time with each other, playing games in the home or watching the show Emmerdale. They have an incredible bond with each other, as Tom never ended up getting married and always lived with his mother Ada.

Tom went to a residential home in 2016 at the Moss View care home in Liverpool. He went because he needed more care and support.

And now, just over a year later, his mother decided to move into the same home in order to help look after her eldest child, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Ada told Liverpool Echo, “I say goodnight to Tom in his room every night and I’ll go and say good morning to him. I’ll tell him I’m coming down for breakfast.”

She continued, saying: “When I go out to the hairdressers he’ll look for me to see when I’m coming back. When I get back he’ll come to me with his arms outstretched and give me a big hug.”

Ada finished by saying “You never stop being a mom”. Tom admitted that he’s more than happy to see his mom more now that she’s living in the same place as him.

He told Liverpool Echo, “She’s very good at looking after me. Sometimes she’ll say ‘Behave yourself!’” Ada and her late husband Harry had four kids, the fourth one passed away at the age of 13.

According to Mirror, Tom was a painter and decorator before he retired. Ada was an auxiliary nurse at the former Mill Road Hospital. Other family members regularly visit the care home.

They noted that both Ada and Tom are so happy to be together again. It’s pretty rare to see a mother and their child in the same care home and the care home is more than happy to make sure their time together is as special as possible.
