Pilot suspended for sleeping inside the plane.


Pakistan International Airlines suspends pilot for leaving trainee in charge of the jet while he sleeps in business class. 


Captain Amir Akhtar Hashmi, a senior pilot with Dreamliner Pakistan International Airlines has been suspended after photos of him sleeping on board a plane emerged on social media.

According to Mirror, Hashmi allegedly slept for two-and-a-half-hours in a business class seat on board the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Islamabad to London on April 26.
A passenger on flight PK-785 filed a complaint with the airline along with the snap of the dozing captain.

Hashmi should have been in control of the 305-seater Boeing 777 plane during the eight-hour flight to Heathrow but he was reported to have placed a pilot trainee in charge of the jet.

However, an investigation has been launched into the incident following the complaints to Pakistan International Airlines.

IGP Orders For Immediate Sack Of Plateau Police Commissioner

Hours after the killing of over 100 people in Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South Local Government Areas, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has ordered the sacking of the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, with immediate effect. He was replaced by Yobe state-born Bala Ciroma, who was until his new position the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department. A terse statement issued on Tuesday by the Spokesperson of Plateau State Police Command, Matthias Tyopev, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, neither gave reasons for the removal nor explained his new posting. Nobel Peace and  Education activist  Prize winner Malala Yousafzai says the people of Pakistan need to do some soul-searching in the wake of the recent death  of a university student who was beaten to death for professing progressive views about Islam. 23-year-old, Mashal Khan, was lynched by an angry mob after a heated debate about religion spilled out of a dorm and out into the open.  According to Reuters, witnesses claimed police hesitated to save Khan, and an imam at the local mosque refused to read the last rites at his funeral. “This was not just the funeral of Mashal Khan, but a funeral for the message of our religion, which is peace and tolerance,” said Yousafzai, 19, in an Urdu video message broadcast on Pakistani news outlet Geo News. “We have forgotten our values and are not representing our religion,” she continued, adding that the incident “has brought disgrace to our country.” Source...
