Driver to Obasanjo's Wife Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Motorcycles

Policemen in Lagos state have arrested a driver employed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo's wife for stealing.
Former President Olusegun ObasanjoA 32-year old driver attached to the wife of the former Nigeria president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Joseph Osunbor has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court for allegedly stealing two motorcycles belonging to two women.

The suspect was arrested with his boss' SUV at Igando area where he went to visit his family. The Benue State-born Osunbor allegedly defrauded the victims, Mrs Chinenye Uzoka and Sabina Onyebueze who gave him the motorcycles on hire purchase before he ran way with the bikes since 2015.

PM Express reported that Osunbor first met Uzoka and told her he had no work and asked her to buy a motorcycle for him to drive on hire purchase. They both agreed that he will balance the woman N230,000 before Uzoka took her to a dealer and bought the bike and handed him over to be paying weekly.

It was the same antics he also used for the other victim after they agreed for N200,000. However the two women lost both their monies and the motorcycles to Osunbor who ran away to an unknown place. The suspect was later arrested after he sneaked in to meet his wife and children in the area.

Unknown to him the police and the victims have been trailing him and they eventually nabbed him. He was taken to Igando police Division where his boss, Mrs Obasanjo came to retrieve her vehicle seized by the police. Osunbor was charged to court with stealing under the Criminal Code.

He pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. Osunbor was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 25 June 2017.
